re: Solid start to East Zone Duck Season - skullraker
If you want to pop a few woodies, they can be had in PRWMA if you follow a slew and try to find a kinda open spot to shoot. It's a 15 minute game; if you don't get a couple passes after 15 minutes of daylight; pick it up. I used to make a lil shoot like that before work back when I was way more mad...

Go to Gunbot.net. Search Rifle ammo, 7mm-08. Should be able to locate several options. My guns all like the Green & Yella Core-Lokd....

re: Duck reports, feet hanging, we banging - skullraker
Well, for the first time in 30years, I can very humbly say that we DNF on opening day! Un F'ing believable. No joke, last year was the first time that we didn't limit on opener. This year takes the cake, we didn't fire a shot. This is a prime lease in Delacroix that has traditionally been awesome;...

re: Duck reports, feet hanging, we banging - skullraker
What about PLH? They had plenty in Teal season and we were sucking wind in Delacroix. I bet they got birds and keeping it tight to the vest. Can't say I blame them; lotta poachers down that way. ...

re: Lake Decade area reports - skullraker
Front coming Monday. I'd go tomorrow, but I intentionally get a "late" start. Hunters generally pick up about 9:00 or so. ...

re: Duck Youth Opener Reports??? - skullraker
My daughter killed 5 BW and 1 mott Saturday AM in Delacroix. Had fair amount of ducks, but nothing to get real excited about. Lease partner took kids Sunday and scratched, but saw "plenty" flocks high and flying South. Water was high Saturday and he said it was crazy high Sunday. ...

re: Smallest deer you’ve ever shot - skullraker
Tender as a Mother's love! Don't beat yourself up over it. I concur with looking at the length of the head as the greatest tool for judging doe size. We like to refer to older/larger does as "longheads". ...

re: Youth Duck Hunt Delacroix - skullraker
Sounds a lil slim. Teal season was terrible for us near Lery/Lost lake. Did the marsh take a beating?...

Youth Duck Hunt Delacroix - skullraker
Planning to take my daughter for the youth duck hunt Saturday in Delacroix. I have not been down since Zeta and have not heard much regarding any concentrations of birds. Hoping someone on here has been down there and can say if we have any ducks down. We are going either way (tradition); but a li...

re: Duck Report - skullraker
Was the marsh pancaked (flat)? I think the high salty water have taken a toll on the fragile freshwater marsh and probably SAV too. I'm not far from Spanish Lake as the duck fly's, but we had a terrible teal season and the marsh looked flattened already. Blinds and boat blinds will struggle for co...

re: Fridge experts - skullraker
Also check the compressor overload. It may have failed after running all day with no ventilation since the vent/coil was iced over. I had that happen twice and both times it was a cheap fix. Also had a start capacitor go out on a freezer, also cheap fix. ...

re: Family Friendly Outdoor LSU viewing options in Nola - skullraker
I concur with Manning's on Fulton St. They have an outdoor patio area that might be better for the kids. They can run around on Fulton St to break up just being glued in front of the the big screen. Inside they have a for pay viewing area with big fancy theater seats. Food is generally poo and...

Talking about those old yellow rods with wire guides? I used to have a couple but they long gone. I believe they still make some version; check with Gus in Slidell. Or hit every garage sale in SELA; bound to run across a few. ...
