Anyone use android smart TVs?
I'm in the market for a new TV. I've always had either LG, Samsung, or a TCL Roku TV.

This Hisense 50" android smart TV has me curious since I'm pretty plugged into the Google ecosystem

Hisense Smart TV

It's a little more than the TCL Roku TVs of the same size but still reasonable at $430

Any opinions on the UI with an android TV?

I have a shield TV pro hooked up to my theater projector. Everything else I use roku. It's an excellent device.

Literally just bought a Phillips 52in Android tv. Have only had it for a day but so far it's not bad. Not my main tv but perfect for our "game room". Got it at Wally world for 400$ so not looking for the "best" but the 4k is actually not bad

I have a Sony 85" with Android TV and it is great. I can use the one remote to control the tv, DirecTV, and blu-ray player although we mostly just stream stuff.

I'm just using for streaming and Nintendo switch. I'll probably pick up something like youtube tv during college football season.

Don't watch a ton of TV but needed something for the new place

Just got the 70" at bestbuy for 549 on sale. We are satisficed so far, very easy to navigate the menu and add APPS. Volume is great and so far the picture is great.

No we are playing with the right color settings now. with 2 kids and amazing eyes it look different to us with old eyes. The struggle is real HA

Not a smart TV per se but the new Google Chromecast with Google TV is amazing for 50$, especially if you use YouTube TV. And we're mainly an apple household but Google made a badass product as a follow up to the Chromecast.

I bought a 55' Hisense Android tv last year and have had a lot of problems with it. The remote will stop working sometimes and other times the tv won't turn on or off without unplugging it and waiting a few minutes and plugging it back in.

When we moved we bought several Sony X900s which have it.

We previously relied on ATV4ks, and they're sitting in a box because we just haven't had a need to get them out and haven't noticed any performance drop. The one time it became an issue was when we were going to switch to AT&T to get the Braves games, and Android didn't have a native app.

We got the 75" hisense Android TV, for the money I am extremely impressed, the operating system is great IMO. I had to get a roku for my Vizio TV's to get HBO max without casting, I think I will put a little more value on a TV having Roku or Android TV in future purchases. I am actually fine with the slow, clunky Vizio smartcast, it just takes them forever to update apps, and it sounds like they may never get HBO max in their system.

I had a Sony 900E with Android TV and the wifi constantly dropped out. Got fed up and replaced it with a TCL 6 series.

I think you are limiting yourself if you rely on the TVsmart streaming. I have an apple 4k and a chromecast for google TV and the Chromecast is much better than my LG smart TV intergrartion.

I am pretty amazed with the amount of info you get when looking at a show and the search within the installed app/service is pretty amazing.
