Why can’t Remington remain solvent?

Bean counters.

You can't put out a shitty product in a market saturated with high quality budget priced items.

Freedom Group the holding company ran it all in the ground. I am sure the ammo division was making money but the debt from the other sides of the business brought down the house of cards. Investment bankers could run the desert out of sand.

Sierra, Ruger, and PSA are the only transactions worth caring about. the rest is just shite companies absorbing more shite products

re: Vista Outdoors buys Remington ammo business
Two weeks ago I bought 3 Remington 700s from Walmart for $199 each.

I have sent one off to Long Rifles Inc to be blueprinted. One thing that I did not know is that the bolt on all newer 700s needs to be timed to the action.

Basically the wedge that are on the action that the bolt hits and pulls the spent brass out of the chamber don't hit each other. A few hundred rounds in the life of the weapon won't ever effect it most likely. The gun that I'm building for my son (the one sent off) will be shot a lot in F class matches so LRI will be timing it as well.

Here is the problem. The guys at LRI said that Remington have known about this issue and never did anything to fix it.
Besides that, they will rust sitting in a vat of cosmoline.

The company has two of the most iconic firearms in the history of firearm and they manages to screw them up.

My academy had the 870 a few months ago. Guy said don’t get it and went through the ways it was poorly manufactured

Somewhat, mostly frivolous lawsuits brought on by anti-gun groups and negligent individuals though. Remington is an example of what can happen to any firearms company, regardless of their products.

There's always a diamond in the rough. Tapco Galil mags are GTG. Kinda like ProMag HK93 mags.

But yes most of the rest is crap.

Hope Ruger does Marlin right.

Where is Vista based at? Hopefully it is a US company and not some foreign company.

So roundhill has the rights to the 700, 870, 1100?

Vista is a spin off when ATK decided to restructure their holdings in like 2015.

Interesting that they sold off savage recently.

I’m too lazy to type out the whole history but the vista Wikipedia page looks to be correct from my quick scan of it.
