re: Need advice for groomsmen gifts
Agreed. It gets out of hand paying for all that stuff. It's easy to spend other peoples' money, and the two worst offenders are the best man and the bride.

Some of the best weddings I've been to let us wear our own tuxedo or all buy a similar suit from a store, then at least keep it and use it if needed later.

As for the knife gift idea, I had a bad experience. Received one two summers ago and cut myself pretty bad a few nights later, probably shouldn't have had the knife out after that many beers.

re: Need advice for groomsmen gifts
Well, the fiancé lost her shite when I said I was going to get a custom bench made. Begged me not to go over a hundred dollars per groomsmen because she googled it and normally it’s a 50-100$ gift. I told her I would take it into consideration, lol. Now I’m thinking she is right.
We are headed out to the marsh next weekend for bachelor trip, and I told them I would pay for my part for the captain. For the suits they could rent or buy it because I picked the colors so it would hard to tell a difference.
The fiancé has basically convinced me to get a candle holder that is made out of real deer antlers, and it is under 100$. She said to just get a present like that for Christmas not groomsmen gifts.

Move the date to one not in football or hunting season... they'll all appreciate it... but not as much as you come every year.

With all due respect, I don't know of any guy friends that have ever coveted or even thought of a candle holder.

I know this is a PITA process and you are trying to get through it with your sanity and I'm not trying to break your balls.

Maybe check the sales page at Orvis or Duluth Pack. For example, the mens accessories page at Orvis has something called "MKM Fara knife" for sale at 99/ea. There's also some nice 12g shell belts and bison belts for just under 100. Those could be worn for years.

Also Duluth Pack has shell bags in Mossy Oak pattern for $105. Their stuff will last forever, DP got their start making BWCA gear.

Finally, Sunglass Hut is having some wicked sales. I bought a few pair of Persols and with their sales deals, I was under $100/pair. That would be a kickass gift, those are really nice glasses.

I gave fixed blade Ka-Bars, not the full-size tactical ones, but the hunter size. Two of the groomsmen cut themselves that night. At least half of them are still around 6 years later. I use mine all the time when in the woods.

Baw, you’re not even married yet and the future Mrs. Outdooreb is dictating how much you can spend on your friends. $50 deer antler candle holder ? C’mon Man .... it’s your wedding too, buy what YOU want for your friends.

If your groomsmen are not the kind of people who would bust your balls for buying them a candlestick holder then they don’t deserve gifts anyway.
Why would she care if you spent 100$ on that and not let you spend 100$ on a nice knife. They are going to prolly spend a ton on all kind of stupid shite “ monogrammed robes with matching slippers and matching shirts for the bachelorette party and monogrammed yeti mugs for their white claws.

Candlestick holder...really? I'd be pissed that you wasted money on that if you were to gift that to me. Those will end up in one of two places, garage sale or trash.

I bought large camo duffle bags with initials sewn in. Put a flask and an engraved filet knife inside
