Welcome, I’ve been on Team Sub 70 since December. 699 Pro irons, JB wedges, and 948X 4 wood.

Dang Chappy,

I was hoping to be your guest at the Team Srixon BBQ....

At least you didn't go all in into the dark side of TaylorMade.

I thought about TM, but I didn’t want to wait 10 months for a set of irons

This post has peaked my interest. Do they make a 3 iron in 699 pro? How is distance/workability with these irons?

Yea, 3 iron is available. I have the 5-PW, GW, SW, and LW. I have the 4 wood, and I am ordering a 7 wood and a 4 hybrid soon. I do use a PXG Driver, though, never tried the Sub 70 Driver. I was a PGA Club Professional for over 30 years , and I believe that Sub 70 is as good or not better than other premium golf clubs.

Ok, I just didn't see it as an option on the drop down menu on their website. The lowest I saw was 4-pw.

I was playing Titleist mb 695 when I was playing a lot 10 years ago, but I don't play nearly as much as I used to an am leaning towards a players iron that can still play relatively long.

Are misses typical for a muscle back?

Unless Coach Chappy wants to cut a deal on his Srixons, I am going have to investigate these irons a little more for when I get ready to invest in a new set.

I despised this “cult” but did the club champion full bag for 100 bucks just to basically use it to have them refit me for my driver shaft, 3 wood shaft, and wedge bounce etc. Told him not to even look at my new T100 irons cause i smashed them. He said there was only one iron he thinks could beat it. Needless to say I’m a new owner of Srixon ZX7s.

I don’t think so. They do make a driving iron that’s based on the 699

Distance and forgiveness are incredible.

Workability is an issue. I want a straight ball, so I am happy as hell.
