Baylor University officially announced the hiring of Dave Aranda as their new head coach.

WACO, Texas – A 2020 National Champion and 24-year coaching veteran, Dave Aranda has been named the 28th head coach in Baylor Football history, Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Mack B. Rhoades, IV, announced Thursday.

"Today is an exciting day for Baylor," Rhoades said. "Dave is a special person who loves football and his student-athletes, is highly intellectual, and is a great mission fit for both Baylor Athletics and the University at large. Along with demonstrated success on the field, Dave shares in our vision of Preparing Champions for Life and our collective commitment to live by One Standard and in One Accord. We look forward to him carrying those values forward as the next leader of our football program. Join me in welcoming Dave, Dione, Jaelyn, Jordyn and Ronin to Waco."

"I'm excited to get started as a Baylor Bear," Aranda said. "From the outside looking in, I was so impressed watching Baylor play. Seeing the unity of the team and the togetherness of their play really illustrated a strong culture. After meeting Mack Rhoades, talking with President Livingstone and seeing Baylor's alignment from top down you can see why they have been so successful. I'm ready to touch down in Waco and get to work."

Didn't see Amanda at the press conference. Was she wearing a dress or a mini skirt?

Aranda is classy and a helluva DC. I am hoping the O rubbed off on him and he does well at Baylor unless they play us. Good luck to the Arandaconda and thank you for your time at LSU! :geauxtigers:

I don't think he is head coaching material. I hope he does well, but I don't think he likes to be in the public's eye all the time, but now he is going to be in the spotlight. I hope he enjoys it.

A little freaky that Baylor used the same photo (except photoshopped) that Larry Leo used a few stories down when he posted that he was expected to be Baylor’s next coach.

Will need to find a good offensive mind and possibly a good Texas recruiting guru

Thank you Coach Aranda for being part of LSU history. Thank you for enduring all the turmoil of the Les Miles departure debacle. Good luck in Waco. Baylor is a great school.
